Terms & Conditions
Last updated 16 September 2026
These are the terms that apply when you use this website, ask us for a quote, book a measuring visit, or order flooring or accessories from us online. Please read them alongside our Privacy Policy, which covers how we handle your information. Nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
Who we are
Spartan Flooring Limited, company number 11890335, trading as Spartan Flooring, of Unit B6, Windmill Parc, Hayes Road, Sully, Penarth, Wales CF64 5RZ.
For anything to do with an order, a quote, or these terms, contact us at info@spartanfloors.co.uk or 01446 741224.
Using this website
We keep prices, descriptions and photos as accurate as we can, but a screen can never show a floor exactly as it’ll look in your room — colours and finishes vary a little with lighting and your display. If we spot a genuine pricing or listing error before your order is confirmed, we’ll contact you rather than simply honour the mistake.
Prices shown while you’re browsing don’t include VAT — it’s added, at the standard UK rate (currently 20%), as its own clearly labelled line once you reach checkout, so you always see it broken out before you commit to anything.
Quotes & measuring visit bookings
A quote request or a measuring visit booking is you asking us to get in touch — it doesn’t confirm an order, a price or an appointment time on its own. We keep a record of your request so nothing gets lost, but a real person always checks it and agrees the actual details, price and (for a visit) a time with you directly before anything is booked in.
Buying online (LVT, laminate & accessories)
Unlike carpets and made-to-measure vinyl, everything in the online shop is stocked and ready to ship, so this is the one part of the site where placing an order online creates a contract straight away.
- Placing an order
- Adding items to your basket and completing checkout is an offer to buy — we accept that offer either by confirming your order or by dispatching it. If we can’t fulfil it (for example, something goes out of stock before we catch it), we’ll let you know and refund anything you’ve paid.
- Payment
- We take payment securely by card, through Stripe — we never see or store your card details ourselves. While this is being switched on, placing an order reserves your items and we’ll contact you directly to arrange payment before it’s dispatched.
- Delivery
- Choose Pickup from store (free, from our Sully showroom) or Delivery (currently a flat £5.99, VAT included) at checkout. We aim to get delivered orders to you as quickly as we reasonably can. Risk in the goods passes to you once they’ve been collected or delivered.
Your right to cancel an online order
Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have 14 days from the day you receive an item bought through the online shop to change your mind, and a further 14 days to send it back — provided it’s unused and in its original packaging. You’ll need to cover the cost of returning it unless we sent the wrong item or it arrived faulty. Just email us to let us know you’d like to cancel.
This right doesn’t apply to carpets, made-to-measure vinyl, or fitting work arranged through a quote or booking rather than the online shop — those are cut and made to your room’s specification, which the regulations treat differently (regulation 28(1)(b)). We’ll agree cancellation terms and any deposit directly with you when we confirm that kind of order. If you cancel after we’ve ordered the material in but before it’s been cut, a 30% restocking fee applies to the refund — this is what our supplier charges us to return material ordered in specially, so it’s passed on rather than absorbed as a loss. Once it’s been cut to your room’s specification, we can’t accept a return or refund it at all.
Faulty or damaged goods
Nothing in these terms affects your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. If something arrives faulty, damaged, or not as described, contact us and we’ll put it right — by repair, replacement or refund, whichever’s appropriate.
Fitting & installation
Where we carry out fitting — measuring-visit jobs, and installing carpets, vinyl, LVT or laminate — our team will take care in your home and clear away offcuts and packaging when they’re done. Please have the room cleared beforehand and keep pets and children away from the work area while they’re on site, for everyone’s safety.
Liability
We’re not liable for any loss that wasn’t a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms. Nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for anything else the law doesn’t allow us to limit or exclude.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute will be handled by the courts of England and Wales.
Changes to these terms
If anything here changes, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
